*Free* - An Introduction to Improvisation
Wednesday, March 21st, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Susan will lead the group through enjoyable theater games, skill-building exercises and scene work. You will learn some basic improv techniques that will be expanded on during the 6-week class (see description below), and gain an understanding of how improv skills can unblock your creativity and give you more confidence on and off stage -- all while having lots of fun! Don't be intimidated by improv...this class is friendly, non-competitive and supportive.
Improv I - Beginners Class ($210)
Wednesdays, March 28th - May 9th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
(no class April 11th)
This class is for actors and non-actors alike. During the 6-weeks you will learn and hone basic and advanced improv techniques. Through theater games, story development skills, and character creation you will learn techniques that will help you to unblock your creativity. A safe, supportive and nurturing atmosphere is created in which each student can be spontaneous, uninhibited and more comfortable with verbal, emotional and physical expression. Laura Merrill is a strong comedic actor and writer. She has recently contributed as a writer and performer to "The Beverly Bonner Show" at Broadway Comedy Club, and "In Transit" and "Something Outrageous" at the 45th Street Theater. She has experience in Shakespeare, Chekhov, and scenic design.
